 I was gonna get back on the roundup-post train, but I'm in that weird place where I feel like I should go back and find a bunch of stuff that I wanted to link to over the holidays, but didn't, and now it feels like it would be a lot of work to do that.  So idk.  I'll keep working on my perfectionism, and in the meantime, have a picture of my dumb bird (Their name is Jessie, and I use they/them pronouns for them).

Ohh that's super interesting, I've never heard that before! Do you know if the silver color correspond to a change in their vision - like humans with cataracts? Or is it just an age/pigmentation thing? Jesse is so lucky to have her retirement villa at the RedTailedHawk90 Raptor Resort.

I think it's just a pigmentation thing? Mildred's vision never seemed really affected by it, anyway, but also it wasn't like she was out, flying around and really testing it. It's really just in the iris, so it probably doesn't affect their vision much, if at all.

Ahh, good to know! Silver irises are so cool, it sounds like a fantasy trope. Like, the warrior and her silver-eyed raptor and their adventures. I'm incredibly pleased to know that it's a real thing.
