"Look out, here comes Maximum Damage!"
Max sighed and plopped down next to Merril, dangling her feet over the edge of the ramp. Instead of answering right away, she handed Merril one of the coffees she'd picked up from Dunkin' Donuts on the way to the skate park. Merril took it gratefully, wrapping her fingers around the steaming cup.
"So, you heard about that, huh?" Max asked, although the words fell flatly from her lips, more of a statement than a question.
